Hand Crocheted Slouchy Beanie

I learned how to crochet this week. Don't hate on my hat, its the first thing I have ever crocheted. I think it turned out ok, I had to go "off pattern". Im such a rebel like that. I dont like to follow directions. What really happened was on my head it felt too big, and chef hat like. So I had to go back and take rows out and then improvise and wing the rest of the hat. You can find the original pattern at http://http://jessicasuzanne.com/craftypants/2007/09/13/pretty-puffs-slouchy-hat-with-pattern/. If your interested in the mods I made, I omitted steps 8 and 11 and the just adjusted the dc count in the later rows to reflect this change.

Introducing Cupcake Tattoo

Rachel and I have started designing hair accessories under the name Cupcake Tattoo. Were really excited about our new logo, which was designed by Todd Walthall. Things are moving fast, and we hope to have the first of the line available at the first West Texas Tattoo Convention. Look for our Etsy store and website, which are both in the works. To say were both excited would be an understatement.

Cupcake Tattoo

The hair bow thing is taking off quickly. The ball is definitely rolling fast. Brand name and logo are in process, I came up with a display. The line will make its official debut in february but here's a peak at what were working on for now.

Metalocalypse Nesting Dolls second photo shoot

I have heard through the grapevine that people want to see pickles better. So ask and you shall receive. The nesting dolls went out for another photo shoot today, but being the rock stars that they are they are used to it. They were a little unhappy about it not being metal enough. They asked for lakes of lava and fire and the best I could do was a fence and a driveway. Which they all thought wasnt very metal.

Mr. Bumbles

Mr. Bumbles is a happy little bee. Rachel likes bee's, so I wanted to make her a happy little
bee painting using brown because said she was liking brown lately. So we have an espresso, latte, and moccasin background. I sure hope she loves him. I know he makes me happy every time I see him. Im going to be so sad to see him go. Hes been great company.

"Love Birds" A painting by Anita

I never really covered it in this blog, but I totaled my car a few days before Christmas in a one vehicle roll over accident. Thankfully everyone was unharmed and we were able to walk from it. The little Focus was not so lucky.
Shortly after this happened a friend of mine contacted me and told me she wanted to give me her old car. I was so taken back by her kindness and generosity. I have never had a friend do such a nice thing for me. I was inspired to paint something for the first time in 14 years. This painting entitled "Love Birds" now lives with my friend and her boyfriend. I realise its not exactly a car, but it is special in its own way. Usually artists would not part with something that was sentimental like a first painting, but it needed to live with Jae. It was hers before it was even painted.

It was so much fun to create something. Im going to be doing a lot more of it. Somehow my art was lost for a long time. I was in a dark place and I just didn't have the muse, or the will to express myself artistically. I hope to have more things to show you guys soon.
